Art Impressions Fronts & Backs
A quick How-To on these fun-to-make cards.
All images brought to you exclusively by Art Impressions Rubber Stamps Copyright 1997-2008
First let's get together the things you'll need.
White Cardstock
Black Ink Pad
Markers of your choice
Scissors
Ex-Acto Knife
Stamp Positioner
Glue Stick
and... Art Impressions Stamps
Step 1
Stamp Fence, P1499, on the front your folded card about 1/2" up from the bottom.
Cut straight across the top of the fence and then up the fold. Be sure to leave the small space at the bottom.
Here you will put some grasses maybe and it is where your character will stand.
Step 2
Open your card and using a stamp positioner stamp the Fence again on the other side.
Align the top of the Fence stamp image just a tiny bit down from the cut edge of the paper.
Stamp the inside of the card with any of the great Art Impressions Stamps.
Here we used our Giant Oak Tree, T1584, and our Birds, A2413 and B2414.
Step 3
Here we chose Nellie, U1703 and stamped her on a separate piece of cardstock, colored her, cut her out and then glued her together.
This is the same way you would do all the Front & Back Characters in order to position them at the Fence or the Windows.
You can position her at the Fence either on the outside looking in or on the inside looking out!
Position your Character on your card. Make sure it looks right from both sides. Glue in place.
Step 4
Now let's try a Front & Back Window Card. The House Window, the Barn Window and the Wooden Stand are all done the same way.
Stamp the Window Front on the outside of your folded card as shown here. Using an Ex-Acto knife cut out the inside of the Window. (Dark area shown)
Step 5
Using a stamp positioner and the cut out hole as a guide, stamp the Window Back directly over the hole on the inside of the card. See next picture.
Step 6
A stamp positioner is a "must-have" for Fronts & Backs. It is a great tool you'll love for all your stamping projects.
Step 7
Finish your card by stamping appropriate images both inside and out and gluing your character in place.
Happy Stamping,
Art Impressions
